Vietnam Trip Reality Check
5 Days Phu Quoc + Da Nang – Real Budget, Real Planning (No Fake Reels)
If you’ve been scrolling Instagram and seen reels like
“Vietnam trip in 20k” or “Phu Quoc under 30k”, please pause for a moment
This blog is for people who want real numbers, family-safe planning, pure vegetarian food, and zero last-minute surprises.
Everything mentioned here is personally booked and experienced by us, mainly through KLOOK, and this is the exact itinerary we followed — no guesses, no assumptions.
Quick Overview
- Destinations: Phu Quoc + Da Nang (Vietnam)
- Duration: 5 Days (Phu Quoc + Da Nang extension)
- Family-friendly trip
- Pure vegetarian food options included
- Activities & transfers booked via KLOOK
- Visa rules explained clearly (very important)
- Flights – Let’s Break the Biggest Myth
First things first:
There are NO direct flights from India to Phu Quoc.
You will have to take one-stop flights, usually via:
Singapore
Malaysia
Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi)
Our honest recommendation (especially if you’re travelling with family):
Go for Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, or Vietnam Airlines.
Comfort, baggage allowance, and smooth transit really matter on international trips.
Approx flight cost:
₹35,000 per person (return)
(Mumbai → Phu Quoc, varies by season & booking date)
Vietnam Visa – Don’t Miss This Part
This is where many people get confused.
1)Phu Quoc is visa-free for Indians
2)But the moment you enter any other Vietnam city (Da Nang / Hanoi / Ho Chi Minh), visa is mandatory
💰 Vietnam e-Visa cost: $25 per person
⏳ Processing time: 3–5 working days

👉 Tip: Apply early and double-check entry cities on your flight tickets.
Hotel Stay – What Actually Works
To enjoy Phu Quoc properly, where you stay matters a lot.
We followed a location-split strategy, and it worked perfectly.
Our Tried & Tested Stay Split
3 Days: North / Central Duong Dong
2 Days: Sunset Town
This helps you enjoy theme parks, beaches, night shows, and sightseeing without wasting hours on travel.
Hotel budget:
₹4,000 – ₹10,000 per night
(depends on hotel category & season)
Food – Yes, Pure Vegetarian Is Possible
This was one of our biggest concerns — and good news:
Pure vegetarian food is easily available in both Phu Quoc and Da Nang.
Restaurants we personally tried:
- Maharaja Lounge
- Gujarati / Indian Restaurants
- Radhe Krishna Indian Restaurant
- Kathiyawadi Restaurants
- Local vegetarian eateries
Food budget:
Approx ₹1,000 per person per day
👉 Tip: Indian restaurants are a blessing if you’re travelling with elders or kids.
