The lockdown period seems to be too long then they are, isn’t it? Due to the lack of work and productivity, we tend to feel drowsy throughout the day and so are our kids. So, why not indulge them with something creative? And, that might light up their face with happiness.

So, in this series of fun activities to do with your kids during the Quarantine period, I am going to add a new alphabet which starts from F and i.e., Fairy Light Jars with Kids. It is as interesting as it sounds and your kids will fall in love with the outcome of this creative work.

If your kids love listening to fairytale stories, then I am sure that they will love this activity and the process of doing this activity is totally interesting as well. And, don’t throw those mason jars that you have emptied, just put them into a creative project with kids.

Why Fairy Light Jars With Kids?

Fairy Light Jars not only look creative but also they appear to be dreamy and give the vibe of a fairytale. And, nowadays, kids love making DIY projects with their parents during their summer holidays and if they are making their own Fairy Light Jars then they amp up their room decor as well. Moreover, it also makes a pretty gift to give to their friends or other family members.

Material Required for the Fairy Light Jars With Kids

Deliberately, I choose the activities which require no materials or you can find those materials at your home. So, for the Fairy Light Jars with Kids, you need some minimalistic material which might be available at your home and they are Mason or Glass Jars, Glitter Powder (or colour paint with work too), fevicol, paper cut out of a fairy and a battery-operated candle (or normal candle can also be used.)

How to make “Fairy Light Jars With Kids”

Fairy Light Jars are completely simple and super enjoyable activities with kids. Take the mason or glass jar and paste the cut-out image of the fairy on one side of the jar and paint the rest of the inner side of the jar with the simple colour of your choice. Make sure the layer of paint coating should be thin enough to reflect light from the jar. And, if you want to make the glitter one, then coat the inner side of the jar with one of fevicol and spread the glitter randomly. Leave it for 2-3 hours until it is completely dry and they place the battery-operated candle inside the jar and it will be your mini lamp with a fairytale vibe.

Key Learnings

We made around 4 jars so it has kept her busy throughout the whole day. So, here are some of the learnings:

• She was super engrossed and happily participated in this activity.
• It makes her feel proud when she made her fairy light jar.

My Overall Experience

My daughter, Angel loves fairytale stories and she was so happy when we tried out making fairy tale jars and ended up making 4 jars. Now, she will be gifting 2 jars to her best friend.
