Jewellery Making With Kids

As lockdown is increasing, it is getting difficult to try out different fun activities with your kids, isn’t it? They might be losing interest in these activities but you always need to come up with a variety so that every new activity is as challenging as the last one!

So, in these series of fun activities to do with your kids during the quarantine period, I have found out one more activity that starts with the alphabet, ‘J’. And, J for Jewelry making with kids. I know it might be a little intimidating for you if you have a boy child. But, you should never discriminate against the activities based on the gender of their child. Let them experiment with the new activities and give them maximum exposure.

Why Jewellery Making With Kids?

Nowadays, when the internet is flooded with a lot of DIY projects on almost everything, then you and your kids must be tempted to make some DIY jewellery for themselves. You can even give gifts to your family members and friends as they will surely love it as well.

Material Required for the jewelleryJewelry Making With Kids

There are a lot of DIY jewellery-making projects. So, it depends upon which kind of jewelry that you want to try out with your kids. There are different DIY jewellery projects like flower jewellery, beads jewellery, pasta jewellery and even more. In this activity I am going to try out pasta jewellery as materials for this jewellery are easily available in the house. But, if you want me to create other jewellery with kids then leave your comments and I will be doing a part 2 for my readers.

So, starting with the material required for Jewelry making with kids in the pasta type is different shapes of pasta, food coloring, glue, transparent plastic thread or old jewellery chain with hooks.

How to make “Jewelry Making With Kids”

Before doing this activity, I have researched on google and YouTube and took a reference mainly from this video

Jamie Petito has explained the steps nicely so it would be really easy for you to replicate those steps and then you can make your own DIY Jewelry statement with your kids.

Key Learnings

Here’re some of the key learnings from this jewelry making project:

  • Live every activity, it requires a lot of patience and precision to make the jewellery.
  • It gives immense pleasure to the kids when they can see their own handmade jewelry after the hours of hard work and efforts that they’ve put in while making the jewellery.

My Overall Experience

I am so happy with the great jewellery that we have made and Angel gifted me her own handmade jewellery. So, try out this activity with your kids too and don’t forget to share the experience in the comment section below. If possible, you can also share the pictures of your jewellery that you have made with your kids and tag me, @sneha_261013 on Instagram.
