Calligraphy With Kids

As the pandemic crisis continues to spread all around the world, the least you can do is to stay at home and maintain social distancing with everyone around you. In this situation, it is no less than an easy task to be equipped with some fun activity which should be useful for them as well.

Calligraphy with kidsRecently, I have realized that many parents are struggling to find the best fun activities only, so that’s why I have created a whole series of fun activities to do with kids during the quarantine period. So, today’s topic starts with the alphabet ‘C’. And, C for Calligraphy with Kids.

I have high hopes from this activity as this will not help them to practice the art of beautiful calligraphy of letters and numbers but also they can create their unique font which will help them to make creative party invitations, signatures and showcase them on their school or even college projects.

Why Calligraphy With Kids?

Calligraphy with kids doesn’t seem to be boring because it involves a lot of creativity and a bunch of colourful pens (you can do it with single-coloured pens as well). It helps to master a whole new artistic skill and develop their interest eventually. If your child loves doodling on walls and likes to draw new cartoon faces, then you should try out this activity with them.

Material Required for the Calligraphy With Kids

If you are a beginner and just starting Calligraphy with Kids, then I don’t think there is a point of buying lots of fancy material for this activity. All you need is super basic things like paper and marker. You can also use multiple coloured markers or pens if you are looking for a variety.

How to do “Calligraphy With Kids”

Calligraphy is more like a skill rather than just one-day activity. If you want your child to be good at it, you need to help them practice this activity daily. It is difficult to learn from reading an article. But, there are hundreds of YouTube tutorials online which helps to teach you from scratch and help you to create beautiful art projects with your little ones.

Key Learnings

Here are some of the key learnings that I have deduced from this activity.

  • Angel, my daughter has found the love for her new hobby i.e., calligraphy.
  • She learned different styles of designing letters and numbers and sooner or later she will be able to introduce her personalized font.
  • Calligraphy has developed patience and artistic skill.

My Overall Experience

The whole experience of teaching calligraphy was a bit tiresome because I do not know calligraphy. But, after checking out a lot of YouTube tutorials, I have found out that practice makes a man perfect and Angel loves doing calligraphy.

So, try out this activity with your kids too and don’t forget to share the experience in the comment section below. If possible, you can also share the pictures of your kid’s creative font or new calligraphy style and tag me, @sneha_261013 on Instagram.

BlogchattezzAnd stay tuned for the next activity from the alphabet, ‘D’! Can you guess it?
